Time for some veggie photos:
I can’t remember which bag this is as I have three types growing in six bags but it’s likely to be the earlies, which are Arran Pilot. There are also other potatoes growing in the ground too.
This is my strawberry pot as of today. There are a few plants with flowers and some mini strawberries on already so it’s looking good so far. The plants I bought last year for autumn planting died during the crappy harsh cold snap we had and had to be replaced. There are several different varieties in the pot that should all fruit at different times.
Here’s one of the blueberries plants – I’m not sure it qualifies as a bush yet but it’s flowering like mad anyway. This is the one I got in a Homebase clearance shelf last year and the poor thing stayed in its pot all through the winter and three feet of snow and survived!
So this is one of the raspberry plants and it’s probably about the biggest at this stage. Going by the size I’m guessing it’s Glen Ample as it was supposed to be an early fruiting one. I have three varieties and I did have them arranged in alphabetical order but then I had to move them and that got messed up so basically I don’t have a clue which is which now, but I’m pretty sure Glen Ample was supposed to fruit earlier than the other two varieties so it would make sense that it’s more advanced with the leaves etc now.
The Jerusalem artichokes! I’m so pleased about these, they make me smile every time I go out to water them as they just seem so healthy and eager to grow. Can’t wait to see the flowers in a few months time.
These are my eggplants, or aubergines as they are known here. I have these two at this stage as I bought them reduced in Tesco for 45p each so I figured I would rescue them. They seem to be doing well after a bit of a shaky start. I also have some seeds planted for later on. You can also see a tiny broccoli plant in an egg carton just trying to muscle its way into the photo.
memo to self: fix the rotation on the berries grrr
