I threw some random things into my bread this week just to see what it would taste like. Dried Calendula, dried Elderflowers and dried saffron. I was about to put it in the oven when my BIL rang to say he was going to Tesco earlier than usual so I had to leave it to rise a bit longer.
Unfortunately because it wasn’t contained inside anything, it spread rather than rose, and the result is this oddity.

But it works well if you want a hunking big sandwich:
Mixed salad leaves, spinach, pea shoots, chives from the garden, watercress from the kitchen, tomato from Tesco, and my bread 🙂
