I bought plants today, they should arrive within a week
Acer palmatum Sango-kaku,
Stachys byzantina ‘Silver Carpet’ (lamb’s ears) ,
Ophiopogon planiscapus ‘Nigrescens’ (black lilyturf),
Phyllostachys nigra (black bamboo) ,
Magnolia × soulangeana (magnolia),
Alchemilla mollis (Lady’s mantle)
I haven’t really been bitten by the gardening bug but I have been trying to make an effort to do something with the garden. Most of the time I’ve been here I’ve just felt it a bit overwhelming, and things like problems with the low phone lines and not being able to get the hedges cut and not having a fence, having the bottom of the garden overrun by giant nettles, and then getting my shed broken into last year, all combine to make me want to give up. Anyway, I’ve always wanted to have a japanese garden so I have started working on that for the top part of the garden which can be seen from the house but what the garden is missing is plants! lol And I don’t have a car and a lot of the things I’m looking for aren’t sold around here anyway which makes it harder but I have ordered these ones online
The maple, the bamboo and the magnolia will be going into big pots for now until they get a bit bigger and I decide where I want them to live.
Oh and also I got one of these last week
Crocosmia ‘Lucifer’
I used to have one of these in a previous garden and it looked great. Wasn’t able to dig it up though 🙁
