So since I’ve been laid up on crutches and unable to get out to the garden at all, guess what I’ve been doing instead?  Yup watching other people garden lol

Grow Your Own Veg  – Series One
Yes I watched a whole series about growing veggies since I couldn’t get in the garden myself  :p Presented by Carol Klein, one of the presenters of Gardeners’ World and based in her own garden in Devon… and if you think that’s sad…

How to be a Gardener Series One
Alan Titchmarsh series about how to be a gardener.  It was actually very good and he is always entertaining.  I do even have series 2 but I haven’t watched it yet.

The Good Life Series 1

The Good Life Series 2

The Good Life Series 3

Guess what this show is about lol  Actually it’s one of my all time favourite shows and I now have all four seasons on dvd :) It’s about a couple who decide to left the rat race and become self-sufficient by turning their suburban garden into something more productive – lots of veg, fruit, chickens, pigs and a goat.  Their neighbours are horrified of course.  Funny show and one that I have watched over and over.

Wild About Your Garden Series One
This show is all about garden makeovers – are you sensing a theme yet? But this time they are to be redesigned to attract wildlife – badgers, water rats, bees, red squirrels etc.  Good show and had some really good ideas.

The Ornamental Kitchen Garden
This is another series (one of three that I have) presented by Geoff Hamilton who presented Gardeners World for about 15 years, was at the forefront of the organic gardening movement in the 80s before most people even knew what organic was, and unfortunately died about 10 years ago.  This show was filmed in his own garden and the premise is that everything in the garden has to have a purpose and look beautiful at the same time.  Very good show, lots of info about how to lay paving, build pergolas, what veg to plant etc etc.  There are two further series in the set – Cottage Gardens and Paradise Gardens which I am still to watch.
