Good news! Goodness Direct SELLS my margarine – in fact they sell all three varieties of it. Goodness Direct is an online shopping site that supplies healthy, organic food and other items a bit like an online healthy grocery shop and they also specialise in items for people with special diets like diabetics, lactose intolerant etc. I’ve been using them since the beginning of 2007 but mainly for things I can’t get around here (Japanese ingredients, vegan foods, macrobiotic ingredients etc) but I got to thinking last night that there’s really no reason why I couldn’t get the bulk of my food shopping needs from them instead of from Tesco who is now selling less and less of what I want. They have free delivery over £35 (Tesco does not offer free delivery) they supply chilled as well as frozen items and they do fresh organic fruit and veg and run a box scheme. Admittedly I think the price of their fruit and veg is a little high so I don’t expect to be using that service but I do have a garden full of organic fruit and veg growing at home! They sell the margarine I like as I said and they sell a full range of Doves Farm products that you will never see in Tesco!!! Did you know they make biscuits for example? Also about a dozen types of flour (OK this is less exciting if you don’t bake), so much available from one company and Tesco barely gives them the shelf space for a few bags of flour! If it sounds like I’m down on Tesco well I am, little bit 😛
So I placed an order this morning and it will be delivered on Tuesday. Really looking forward to it now 🙂 Where Tesco only carries one or two products from a company like Doves Farm or Cauldron Foods, Goodness Direct carries a much larger or complete range of products. I will say that on two occasions in the past they have sent items to me that were passed the sell by date but a quick phone call was all it took to replace the items next day. They are not alone in this of course, there have been many times I’ve found out of date items on Tesco’s shelves – especially in the dairy section!
They also sell the really lovely Faith in Nature range of products. I especially like the Chocolate Bath Foam which actually smells nice and not sickly like some other chocolate scented varieties and their shampoos are just great.
