I was weeding at the weekend and discovered the asparagus has started popping up, unfortunately I snapped off two of the tips before I realised, as I didn’t expect anything to be above the surface yet and got carried away with the weeding!
I have 10 plants that I planted last year, so this year I should be able to pick quite a bit of asparagus (last year I wasn’t supposed to pick any) but only two have popped their heads up so far and braved the weather and I reward them by snapping them off lol
The only other thing that is growing well is the rhubarb, but I think it likes a bit of cold weather too. I could almost pick some to eat.
