After a frustrating start to the day, I went outside to check on something and decided to poke around the garden and take photos of what’s happening.  At the same time I decided to see what if anything had happened to the artichokes as I was supposed to have dug them up around November but due to weather and snow etc it never got done and I didn’t even know if there was anything under there or not.  Wow what I surprise I got!!!

we have fartichokes!  A lot of them! These are Jerusalem artichokes or “sunchokes” that grow beneath the ground, not the green globe artichokes that grow above the ground.  I planted those too but we didn’t get enough sun to get the plants to grow much.

Actually it felt good to do some digging as I was getting in one of those frustrated/want to throw something at the computer kinda moods so it was good to get outside in the fresh air and get rid of that frustration.  There was a lot of artichokes, more than I expected to get and especially since I’m so late in digging them up.  I did plan to eat them last xmas lol

And the rhubarb is doing great too

And then I came back inside and saw that the french tarragon was actually growing again.  I thought I’d killed it off!

It makes me happy to see things growing again
