Today marks the end of my first week of P90X and also the end of the “World’s Biggest Juice Detox” I have good and bad results, depending on your POV.
The juice detox I joined in with because why not, I’m doing it anyway. However, although the guy doing it has a book that practically guarantees 7lbs in 7 days, and how I usually lose about 5lbs a week when juicing, this week I only lost ONE POUND.
Now normally I would be a little unhappy about this but honestly this week I was just glad to see any kind of loss. During the week I weighted myself and I had gained 3lbs !!! So when I stood on the scales this morning I was praying for it to be the same as last week ie no loss, rather than a 3lb gain, so when I saw it was a 1lb loss, I was pretty happy to be still going in the right direction. I know the reasons behind it, so I’m not really disappointed as I know how to fix them.
Today was the X Stretch which was a one hour DVD workout that basically stretched everything, quite a lot of yoga based moves but not all yoga. It wasn’t as strenuous a workout as some of the others but you still feel it. It is designed to help your muscles recover and to increase your flexibility. I almost talked myself into not doing it this morning – or at all – and kept telling myself I could do it later tonight but really who am I kidding? It would be much harder to talk myself into at night that it would be in the morning, so I knuckled down. I’m glad I did as it was pretty enjoyable and only an hour long.
Tomorrow I start back again with the first DVD which is Chest & Back. It will be good to compare how I do this time compared to last Monday. I am also going back on the green juice with no distractions!
I was watching some youtube videos of another “beachbody.com” workout called Insanity. It’s the same company that does P90X but this is scary cardio workout.
